Overview for Eatekhna E5

The Eatekhna E5 is a VTOL motorized sailplane that aims to break with autonomy and range limitations of conventional drones in order to enter the cargo industry – specifically in the medical sector - and be competitive with respect to conventional land, sea and air large-scale transportation:
  • VTOL capabilities allow the E5 to be fully adaptable to any possible environment, making it able to reach almost any place within its range, regardless of the terrain profile or the infrastructure on the destination.
  • The power plant featured by the E5 is specifically designed and selected to cope with the VTOL capability, the basic forward flight and the several adversities that may occur during a routine flight (perturbations, unexpected weather conditions, etc.). It allows the E5 to reach unprecedented speeds and distances, aiming to cover all the different possibilities in such a diverse market as the transportation sector applied to medicine is (long-range delivery, fast emergency delivery, heavy payload transportation, remote locations access, etc.).
  •  The sailplane-inspired design of the E5 allows for a low-drag, high-efficiency, high-stability sailing flight, which makes it possible to increase the autonomy of the drone from that of the conventional ones by far by alternating motorized and sailing flight. The sailing capabilities of the E5 also allow it to be able to perform partially or completely its mission in case of engine failure during flight, as well as in case of partial failure of the electronics modules. It also plays an important role in reliability and safety, allowing the E5 to perform a predictable descent flight in case of complete failure of all systems, including the flight termination systems, which makes it possible to know approximately where will it descent and how much time there is to react to this unavoidable fact, easing the protection of people or property on the affected zone, as well as increasing the chances of recovering the drone with little damage.
