visibility_off Super Human Sports FAQ's

Design
Q: Are there a specific subset of adventure/extreme sports we are focusing on? A: Yes! We are focusing primarily on land and wheel extreme sports for this initial project and challenge.  Q: What is considered an adventure sport? A: While the definition of what is considered an extreme sports can vary person-to-person for this project we are focusing on dry land wheel-based sports such as:
  • Motorcycle racing
  • Motocross
  • Skateboarding
  • Extreme or downhill mountain biking
  • Mountain boarding
  • BMX racing
  • Freestyle scootering
  • Land Windsurfing
  • etc.
A good rule of thumb that we’re going by is if you can find it on the X-Games and/or it includes wheels we’re including it within this project. If you can think of additional Extreme Sports you think should be included comment below. Q: How can you make this about adventure sports, when they sometimes have high rates of serious injuries? A:Risky behavior and its consequences is a part of human life. For many people the rush they experience in more extreme varieties of sports is very important. Indirect benefits of an active life often outweigh the risks, after all this is a complex story. We do not seek to encourage unreflected participation in risky behavior! If you can design sporting devices that are exciting for the participant, the crowd, and relatively safe to use this is your challenge
