Overview for MAY-21
The following design represents fully CFC (carbon fiber composite) structure. Aerodynamical parameters are calculated using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) computer program. Results show that drone design exposes Low Drug High Lift properties.
I tried to show all main constructions of the drone. Safety parachutes and parachute launcher are located within drone construction under the skin. Both of them have bonnet which opens in case of emergency flight termination. This type of design avoids additional drag force.
Four electric driven motors are led around the center of gravity of the drone and provide vertical takeoff and landing.
Wing design is based on Wortmann FX63-137 airfoil. Wing is fixed at five degree angle of attack. Wing surface area is given in “Airbus Cargo” drone challenge frame sheet. Drone does not have landing gear for conventional takeoff and landing. Fin is used as landing gear with two additional retractable landing supporters.
