Details are provided in 'Vehicle structure' and 'Vehicle disassembly' images. 2) Integrate elements of ignition kit: The necessary elements of the ignition kit have been added and other sensor units have been removed. Details are provided in 'Avionics' and 'Ignition kit location and CG placement' images. 3) Batteries: 9000 mAH 5S Lithium polymer batteries from Thunder Power (TP9000-5SHV) were selected weighing 826 grams a pack. 11 battery packs in series are required for 3Kg,100 km mission and 7 battery packs in series are required for 5Kg,60km mission. Details are provided in 'Ignition kit location and CG placement' image. Any necessary changes have also been reflected in the 'Vehicle Overview' image.  ******************************************************************************************* Concept: This tail-sitter design uses four variable-pitch, variable-RPM proprotors in a quad-rotor 'X' configuration coupled with biplane wings. In hover, the quad-rotor configuration provides unparalleled hover stability characteristics, while the fixed wings in the prop-wash enable efficient cruise as a tail-less bi-plane configuration.  Key advantages:  1) The biplane configuration provides the necessary lift in a small footprint. 2) Since the prop-rotors provide all the  thrust in hover as well as cruise, there are no separate lift or cruise propellers. This feature enables shedding of 'dead-weight' in exchange for a higher useful load fraction. 3) No aerodynamic control surfaces imply lesser susceptibility to gusts as well as smooth transition from hover to forward flight and vice-versa by utilizing the superior pitching moment offered by quad-rotor RPM control. Additionally, part of the wing surface immersed in the propeller wake affords superior (delayed) stall characteristics during transition.   Performance:The vehicle operates at a Lift/Drag ratio of 9.8 at a cruise speed of 85 km/hr (2500m ISA), with a payload/range capability comfortably exceeding the requirements for both missions by significant margins. Use of both variable pitch and variable RPM prop-rotors is key to ensuring good hover and cruise efficiencies simultaneously. Mission A: 5kg/60km: can provide +75% range, OR +57% payload at max take-off weight (25 kg) Mission B: 3kg/100km: can provide +12% range, OR +33% payload at max take-off weight (25 kg)  Please see supplemental files (technical report, prop-rotor optimization and payload-range diagram)
